Temporarily Disable Caller ID on Your Cell Phone Calls

It's probably happened to you: you make a phone call from your cell phone to someone, and now they keep calling you back on your cell phone because they saw your caller ID number.  This can be really annoying if it's a company you do business with, because now their accounts receivable has your direct number.

You may already know that from a landline, you can dial *67 plus the phone number you are calling to temporarily disasble your caller ID (for that call only).  But did you know this will also work from your cell phone?

In order to make this work on your cell phone, you have to dial the entire sequence as one string.  It's actuallty the same way you'd do it from a landline, but it just didn't seem obvious, at least to me.

Here is a screenshot from my iPhone as an example:

So next time you make a call and don't want your cell phone number to be visible, hit dial *67!

Well, That’s Weird… Flurry of Prepaid Legal Activity

Well that’s weird… I’m not actively marketing PrePaid Legal memberships anymore, but it looks like I’m going to sell 3 and sign up 2 associates this week.

Go figure.  One is a referral from my wife, and another a referral of two family members by a friend.  Looks like the friend (and maybe her brother) may sign up as associates too.

Guess I’ll have to call PrePaid Legal corporate and find out how many more associates I need to get to Senior Manager 🙂

Cool Knock-Out Business Card

I don't always get a chance to share the Photoshop work I do, but this business card I designed came out particularly well.

I've been making business cards for SendOutCards distributors for a while now, and one of the features I promote is the ability to "knock out" the background on pictures and replace it with more appealing scenes.  I've added everything from simple gradient backgrounds to Hawaiian sunsets.

Roger Weaver sent me a simple snapshot from his webcam.  He didn't have a particular background in mind, but after talking with him on the phone, I had this image in my head of him working in his study.  I found an appropriate background, merged the two, and came up with the following.

I was particularly happy with this one because he really looks like he belongs with this setting.  Let me know what you think!
